Newbury Child &
Community Centre

The Newbury Child and Community Centre is an integrated early years and community facility within an activity centre in the Highlands Education Demonstration Precinct. Located adjacent to proposed open space, including hockey pitches, a sports pavilion and Malcolm Creek Primary School, the centre forms part of a co-located network of education, recreation and community infrastructure supporting health and wellbeing for children and families.

Designed as a community centre for Melbourne’s growth areas, the project delivers flexible, multi-purpose spaces for early childhood education and family services, including preschool, maternal and child health, specialist services, children’s activity rooms, occasional care and adaptable meeting spaces. Environmental sustainability and ESD principles are embedded throughout the design, creating a connected learning and development hub for newly established residents.
