Warrnambool Pavilion

Located on the iconic Warrnambool Breakwater, the Warrnambool Pavilion transforms a once underutilised site into a vibrant multi-purpose community hub. The project replaces ageing yacht club facilities with a contemporary two-level building that embraces its exposed coastal setting.

Drawing inspiration from the site’s maritime history, the Pavilion incorporates robust timber elements and an artificially formed dune to blend into the coastal landscape. Inside, it accommodates a restaurant, community meeting rooms, visitor information facilities, and user change amenities, as well as observation and radio rooms for the local Coast Guard. The Pavilion is also home to the Warrnambool Yacht Club and Offshore Light Game Fishing Club.

Oriented to maximise dynamic views while sheltering from prevailing winds, the Pavilion has become a key public asset—one that celebrates the natural environment while strengthening community connection along the Warrnambool foreshore.
