Set within a tranquil rural landscape south of Ballarat, the Narmbool Visitor & Accommodation Complex is a purpose-built educational and events facility designed to support Sovereign Hill’s vision of environmental stewardship and sustainable farming. Accommodating up to 96 guests across 17 ensuite rooms, the complex caters to school groups, leadership retreats, and private functions.
Designed with a solar passive approach, the building utilises sustainable materials, high-performance insulation, and integrated water harvesting and treatment systems. Two flexible classrooms and communal spaces—including a 100-seat dining hall, A/V-equipped lounge, and outdoor fire pit—create a dynamic learning and social environment.
Surrounded by native bushland and a working merino sheep farm, the centre fosters immersive learning experiences grounded in ecology, sustainability, and cultural awareness. With fully accessible pathways and programs, Narmbool offers a place of rest, reflection, and education, deeply connected to its environment and community.
