Hurstbridge Community Hub

Built on the former Hurstbridge High School site, the Hurstbridge Community Hub integrates health, childcare, and community services at the heart of Wurundjeri Country.

The renovation and extension of the existing Community Centre created spaces for early years services, maternal and child health consulting, playgroups, U3A programs, and wider community activities. The historic Frank Nankervis Library was thoughtfully repurposed as a central function room, anchoring the project in local heritage and memory.

Designed to sit comfortably within the Hurstbridge landscape, the single-storey extension uses timber, stone, and natural materials to reinforce the area’s village character. Positioned at the end of the Diamond Creek Trail and bordered by parklands and community gardens, the Hub is a welcoming, multi-generational space supporting connection, learning, and wellbeing of local families within the Hurstbridge community.
