Responding to Maidstone’s growing demand for early years and health services, the Maidstone Child and Family Centre replaced outdated facilities with an integrated, purpose-built hub.
The project involved the demolition of the existing Dobson Kindergarten and Burns Street maternal and child health buildings, making way for a purpose-built, integrated facility.
The single-storey centre brings together preschool programs, maternal and child health consulting rooms, allied health services, and a community meeting space under one roof. Its design fosters connection between indoor learning spaces and upgraded outdoor play areas, with extensive landscaping enhancing the street frontage and nearby parkland.
Grounded in its neighbourhood context, the centre offers welcoming, inclusive spaces that support local families at every stage, strengthening community connection and care.
